AAPI Culture Fest x Civic Center Night Market

The Civic Center Night Market is fun for all ages! Expect an evening of food, culture and entertainment in the heart of the Mile High City. The market is inspired by those found in Southeast Asia and will be showcasing local culinary experiences, cultural performers and a place to eat, shop, kick back and connect with friends and strangers alike. Returning in 2026 with two exciting events, this is a weekend must! This Friday’s event will take place from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM and is presented in partnership by the AAPI Commission of Denver, Asian Roundtable of Colorado and Civic Center Conservancy.
PRO Tip: Mark your calendar for July 31st, which is a Friday. The Civic Center Night Market will be returning with a Homegrown Colorado theme that you won’t want to skip.
Heartland Community Craft Fair
Where? 709 East 12th Avenue
When? May 22nd
The Heartland Community Craft Fair will take place from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM this Friday. Make a plan to come and enjoy unique handmade crafts and good vibes. All featured crafts will be made by members and other local artisans to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. Everyone is invited to attend and the fair will take place in the yard on the corner of 12th Avenue and Washington Street. The fair will also feature food and drinks, music, raffle prizes, community resources, local vendors and even live screen-printing! Bring your own shirt or purchase a blank T-shirt at the event. There will be no dedicated parking lot, though free street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.
PRO Tip: If you’re interested in volunteering, there are options to help out with event prep during the week leading up to the craft fair!
Open Mic @ Fiction Beer Company

On Friday, check out Open Mic Night from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM! Whether you’re a musician, a poet, a comedian or some other type of entertainer, the audience can’t wait to see what you can do. This month, the host is Rafa with Lost for Words. All ages are welcome at Open Mic and organizers request that content is kept radio-appropriate. Performers will each receive a free 4 ounce taster of beer/hard seltzer. There will be two microphones, two mic stands, two instrument cables and the house sound system provided.
PRO Tip: If you wish to perform, check in starts 30 minutes before the posted start time on a first come, first served basis. Performers will have 15 minutes total of stage time (subject to change).
Rescue Puppy Yoga

Who doesn’t love rescue puppies and yoga? This Saturday, head over to the Orchard Town Center for an all-levels yoga class and the sweetest pups around. Rescue Puppy Yoga helps fosters find their forever homes, while also raising funds for animals in need. There will be two class times, which are scheduled for 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The yoga sessions have been extended for two additional months due to popular demand, so come check it out if you haven’t already. Tickets are priced at $30 per person and include lots of canine snuggles!
PRO Tip: Space is limited, so register today! There will be another Rescue Puppy Yoga event on June 27th. Mark your calendar now so you don’t miss out.
Colorado Rapids vs. FC Dallas

Grab your tickets to watch the Rapids face off against FC Dallas this Saturday at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. The game is scheduled for 7:30 PM but make sure to arrive early so you can snag your favorite game day snacks and beverages before heading to your seat. The Rapids play in nearby Commerce City for the MLS. They’re in the Western Conference and will be playing Dallas as part of the regular season, with the game slated for three days after their U.S. Open Cup game against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Denver Arts Festival

The Denver Arts Festival is a fine arts and fine crafts festival dedicated to showcasing talented Colorado artists and a select group of national artists. This year will be celebrating 27 years of supporting the arts! The festival is held in Central Park’s Conservatory Green neighborhoods. This is one of the top shows in the nation, so if you’re interested in art of any kind, be sure to check it out! The festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (5:00 PM on Sunday). The Denver Concert Band will be performing on Saturday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, along with a slate of other performers in the lineup throughout the weekend. Check them out here.

Secret Coffee Party

Denver Milk Market is the place to be this Sunday! Check out the Secret Coffee Party from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. The Block has been chosen to drop the biggest secret of the summer, so swing by this Memorial Day block party to see what all the hype is about. The entire block will be transformed into a massive celebration, complete with live music to dance to, specialty coffee to sip on and cocktail creations to raise a glass with! There will also be delicious eats and an unmatched vibe of endless energy flowing throughout the entire district. Stay tuned for the secret guest!

Alabama Shakes @ Red Rocks

Alabama Shakes is coming to Red Rocks Amphitheater this Sunday and Monday! Both nights are scheduled for 7:00 PM, so come celebrate the long weekend in the coolest venue around. The band will be joined by JJ Grey and Mofro as openers. From Colorado, the group will be heading to Nevada, California, Alabama and Tennessee before heading overseas to the UK! The critically acclaimed American roots-rock and blues band hails from Athens, Alabama and is made up of commanding front woman Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, bassist Zac Cockrell and drummer Steve Johnson.
PRO Tip: $1 from every ticket sold will go towards the Alabama Shakes Fund, which has been built to provide much needed resources to nonprofits around the country who need it most.
Metro Denver Farmers Market — Southwest Plaza

The Metro Denver Farmers’ Market is back on Saturdays at the Southwest Plaza through the end of October and on Sundays in Highlands Ranch through the 1st of November. The market schedule for the summer will be followed by Saturday’s in Lakewood starting June 13th and Wednesday in Sterling Ranch starting June 24th.The Metro Denver Farmers’ Market began 40+ years ago in downtown Denver. Over the years, the market has grown to various locations and days and has strived to bring the freshest local produce directly to area residents!

Family-Friendly Activities in Denver This Weekend

Kick off the summer season with Movies in the Park in Westminster City Park. This Friday at 7:00 PM, bring the family out for an evening of kid-friendly fun. There will be live music, pre-show activities and food concessions. The movie will begin at dusk and there’s not a bad seat in the park! The movie will be projected on a giant outdoor screen, which ensures everyone has a prime view. Friday’s movie is presented by Intermountain Health with support from Central Bank and Yogurt Brothers!
PRO Tip: There will only be a handful of Movies in the Park this summer, so mark your calendar for June 26th, when The SpongeBob Movie will be playing at Westminster High School.
Voice of the Wood Chamber Players

The Voice of the Wood Chamber Players are coming to the Park Hill Branch Library this Saturday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Enjoy the group as they play pieces by celebrated composers with arrangements by Park Hill neighborhood’s very own Mike Maracak! This is an all ages event and everybody is welcome to attend. Whether you’re a music lover or you’re looking to branch out and appreciate a new style, this is a great way to take advantage of your local library and the variety of free events they put on throughout the year.

Read to a Therapy Dog

Joyous Paws Pet Therapy is coming to Denver’s Central Library this Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The Read to a Therapy Dog program is designed for kids ages 5 to 12, so drop on by and read to the friendly pups! This is a truly paw-some activity that helps develop readers as they practice their skills in a relaxed, inclusive space. Books will be available or you can bring your favorite read from home! No registration is required for this event. Afterwards, stick around and peruse the library selection and grab a few new books to practice those reading skills at home!
